A new video of Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla has revealed a new way to switch genders between male and female versions of Eivor.
AccessTheAnimus posted on Twitter a new footage that shows a “DNA Stream Selection” option. This new feature will allow you to swap between two different gender Eivor options at any time during the game. On the one hand, this enables you to try both versions of Eivor and pick a favourite more easily – perhaps opening more players up to a choice they might not have immediately picked (and are then locked into for the next 100 hours).
DNA STREAM SELECTION
This was described by Narrative Director Darby McDevitt as a new feature that ensures both male and female versions of Eivor are considered canon.

According to Ubisoft though, Kassandra was the canon character in the wider fiction, but not necessarily in the game. Narrative director Darby McDevitt assured the franchise’s fans on Twitter that both choices are canon, and he teased that the studio pulled off a trick to allow this to make sense. According to Darby, they are not going to spoil how they managed that trick until we play the game.
