After years of rumors about a Diablo 2 Resurrected, it looks like that Blizzard finally decided to remaster the father of the ARPG genre, allowing players to import their old character files as well in the process.
According to Game Producer, Matthew Cederquist, players will be able to import everything from their old save file into Diablo 2 Resurrected. “Back when we were working on the remaster, we wondered if the old save files would work and we kind of shoved it in and it worked! And we were like, ‘okay, that’s the best feature ever’.” Matthew continued. With this in mind, you better start searching for your old save files if you don’t want to begin all over again. I, personally, can’t wait to bring my Summonmancer into this new HD action!
In addition, Diablo 2 Resurrected will also have two Alpha versions, one for single-player and one for the multi-player. In an interview, Lead Producer Chris Lena stated that “We’re going to start with a single-player technical alpha, and then we’ll have a second technical alpha after that, which is kind of multiplayer and stress testing,”. Unfortunately, we don’t have the exact date for the Alpha release yet, but we will update the article as soon as we have new information.
