It looks like that Diablo 4 will not release in 2021, according to Activision’s Q4 FY2020 meeting. On the other hand, Diablo Immortal is currently in testing and will soon have its Alpha version ready.
Yesterday, Activision stated that Blizzard is currently focused on releasing Diablo Immortal this year, postponing Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2 for 2022. We can’t be sure that these games will be released in 2022, as Blizzard always takes its time before releasing a new title. However, you should not expect them in 2021 as the company made it totally clear in the last Activision’s earnings call.
Overwatch 2 and the fourth installment to the main Diablo franchise was announced back in 2019’s Blizzcon with Diablo Immortal been announced one year prior. Blizzard has been sharing some regular development updates on their website since then, but unfortunately this information is not interesting for the average player. We won’t have an exact Diablo 4 or Overwatch release date in this month’s Blizzcon, but we can still hope for some gameplay footage.
