Microsoft has revealed that Fallout 4 will run at 60 FPS on Xbox Series X.
Originally, Bethesda’s post apocalyptic RPG was running at 30 FPS on Xbox One. However, by using Xbox Series X backwards compatibility, Fallout 4 will run at 60 frames per second on Microsoft’s latest console. Xbox’s Series X compatibility program lead Peggy Lo stated that “the backward compatibility team has developed new methods for effectively doubling the framerate on select titles.”
“While not applicable for many titles due to the game’s original physics or animations, these new techniques the team has developed can push game engines to render more quickly for a buttery smooth experience beyond what the original game might have delivered due to the capabilities of the hardware.” Lo continues. “Backward compatible games run natively on the Xbox Series X and S, running with the full power of the CPU, GPU and SSD. No boost mode, no downclocking, the full power of the consoles for each and every backward compatible game.”
These news should not surprise you, because Sony has already started boosting some old titles with its new Game Boost feature. Thanks for reading! If you enjoyed the article and want to support the site, feel free to throw a like at our official facebook page.
