According to game director, Hugo Martin, there’s still more to come in Doom Eternal including new enemies and some brand new stories.
While Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods Part 2 is supposed to be the conclusion of the Doom Slayer’s adventure, Martin confirmed that this is not the end of our favorite hero. In his interview with Polygon he stated that, “while this is the end of the story arc that began in Doom (2016), we planted a lot of stakes in the ground with that story. And we’ve been able to flesh out a lot of those things throughout the course of Doom Eternal and to do two DLCs. So that story arc will end, you know, from the time you woke up in the sarcophagus to the end of the DLC, but there are more stories to tell with the Doom Slayer, for sure.”
It looks like that the developers are determined to add some lore to a game that began as a high-speed action FPS almost devoid of story. Doom Eternal really set the foundations to perfect the franchise, by adding bits of lore and some key characters to the endless waves of demons and evil corporations. “There is this juvenile quality to everything in Doom. And I think it is critical to make it all fit, I do think that tone is critical. To tell a bigger story, it sacrificed the Doom Slayer. And Doom is about one guy involved in big things, and Doom 4 Classic was more about the big things. There will be more Doom Eternal stories and updates coming later this year.” Martin concluded.
In other news, be sure to check Doom Eternal been played at 1.000 FPS and on a… fridge. Thanks for reading! If you enjoyed the article and want to support the site, you can throw a like at our official facebook page.
