[Original Post – 13/5/2020] In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla you will be able to create your own settlement.
According to a vg247 post, one of the biggest new features in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is that it will allow players to create their own settlement in England. This homebase can be customised to your liking, and will grow as you progress through the story. Assassin’s Creed creative director, Ashraf Ismail, shared a screenshot of our future settlement in Twitter. This area offers players the opportunity to get to know their people better by talking to them, doing some quests, interacting with merchants and periodically checking on things.
According to the creative director, you’ll be able to take part in some relaxing activities such as fishing at your home, you can even see a fish rack and a lake visible in the photo. You will also be able to speak with your war chief, which is probably a quest giver (like tasks or dailies) or the guy responsible for organizing and expanding your settlement. Finally, our base will be set in England and not in Norway as some older articles suggested. Below, you can take a first glimple of your future settlement.
Here’s your home in England.

[UPDATE 1 – 12/10/2020] David Bolle, level designer of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, shared with Jordan Ramee some extra details about the players’ settlement.
First of all, Valhalla’s settlement will be extremely important to the main campaign, because it will allow players to choose what mission they want to pursue from their war rooms. Side quests and challenges will also be available in the homebase along with a resource-management feature. In addition, Eivor will be able to talk to the allies that he/she recruits during his/her missions.
For example, one specific ally, Hytham, is a very interesting character that belongs to the Hidden One, a group that would later became the Assassin’s Brotherhood. Through his quests you will learn more about the Order of the Ancients (future Templars) that you will be able to hunt down the same way as with Cult of Kosmos members in Odyssey. “Hytham will teach you some key elements of the Assassin lore and some abilities too. And by cashing in medallions to him, he will teach you more stuff related to the Assassins and skills, and even give you some weapons. ” Boole stated.
The settlement will also offer a feeling of a real life community to make players believe that this place is their home and worth investing in. “In the settlement, everybody’s unique, they all have their name, their house, their job,” Bolle continues. “So when you go to the house of someone, you will see them working there and doing their thing, but you can also see them talking to each other in the middle of the settlement and stuff. They all have their own agendas. And they are also parts of main quests tied to the settlement.” The settlement will also include stables, a museum and a mysterious seer’s house.
“Some of those characters will offer romances, and even a relationship. So you could go on a date with them and decide to be in a relationship with them. And that, without spoiling too much, might lead you into trouble sometimes–be careful who you choose to be with.” Finally, players settlement in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, will have an experience bar that will increase through the construction of new buildings or the completion of some specific garrison quests. Every time the settlement levels up, it will grow in size, its population will increase and new types of services will be available.
