Players in the Red Dead Online server WildWestRP managed to create a working prison system inspired from Sisika Penitentiary.
If the name does not sound familiar, Sisika is the jailhouse from which the protagonist breaks out at the beginning of Read Dead. The prison is also mentioned during a late-game mission in Red Dead Redemption 2’s campaign. Unfortunately, apart from that, there is no other mention to the penitentiary and the area is off limits for both single and multi-player.
The creator of the server, Hayes, was inspired from this in-game location and decided that he should try implement it on his RP realm. After a lot of work, he managed to crack the code behind the prison and got it up and running on WildWestRP. “Sisika as it is today is the culmination of more than a year’s worth of work building a fully fleshed out Justice system, including two Sheriff’s Offices, a Department of Justice, and the Prison system itself. Ensuring that a system is fair and balanced – in terms of taking punishment for the crimes you’ve committed – is definitely one of the biggest hurdles. That being said, I think we’ve struck a good balance that people seem receptive of.” Hayes stated.
Every player who breaks the law in WildWestRP is escorted to this unique Red Dead Online prison “Sisika” in order to serve his sentence. Inside the penitentiary, he/she will be given a uniform and a specific inmate number. Sentences vary depending on the crime, with a max sentence of 180 months. We remind you that in this sever, each month represents one minute of real time. Even with so small jail times, players enjoy the addition of the jail and they are very supportive. “Ensuring that a system is fair and balanced – in terms of taking punishment for the crimes you’ve committed – is definitely one of the biggest hurdles. That being said, I think we’ve struck a good balance that people seem receptive of.” Hayes continues.
“Of course there will always be some that disagree, saying that we should either be harsher or more lenient, but I think we’ve struck a good balance where most players are happy with the state of the system. There are even players that take it to the next level – those who look for what we call “enhanced sentencing”, or sentencing based on real-life time, for example, spending multiple weeks in Sisika where they can develop their characters and take punishment for the more egregious crimes they’ve committed.” However, WildWestRP’s creator disagrees with the larger sentences and believes that they should not surpass the three hours limit.
