Jeremy Yates, The Last of Us Part 2 lead animator has shared on Twitter some behind-the-scenes videos.
It’s not the first time Jeremy has posted some behind-the-scenes footages from the game. Five days ago, the lead designer of Naughty Dog uploaded a video of dogs in Mo-Cap suits working on the Last Of Us Part 2. it is a short, slow-motion video of a dog–it looks like a border collie–doing a running jump in a motion-capture suit.
This time Yates shows off a rehearsal scene where real horses are brought in the studio. If you check the tweet below, you will see the horses chilling in a special designed arena, jumping over obstacles and galloping through the studio. For extra safety, the company enhanced the floor with plywood and rubber matts.
Fun fact: Our horses were captured at Sony. The volume was enlarged just for this shoot. For safety, a layer of plywood and pretty much the ENTIRE current world’s supply of rubber matts were ordered for the floor. It arrived just days before shooting. #TheLastofUsPartII #horse pic.twitter.com/bC7M6rMkiT

Another tweet shows Dina (Shannon Woodward) and Ellie (Ashley Johnson), two of the main characters of the game, riding a strange and creepy horse-shaped machine.
Did you know @TheVulcanSalute and @shannonwoodward originally snuck out of Jackson riding a unicorn? 🦄This scene was ultimately cut for “story reasons” but here’s proof. #TheLastofUsPartII pic.twitter.com/eha2gWQ8Ti

These days, Neil Druckmann also shared in Twitter a behind-the-scenes rehearsal video of one of the most touching moments in The Last of Us Part 2. If you are a TLOU fan be sure to also read about the original The Last Of Us 2 design as an open-world game.
