The first 48 minutes of Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay video from August 2018 included a very special feature where the protagonist V was wall running in the city. Unfortunately this unique ability will not be included in the game’s final release.

In the video below you can see V wall running and when she reaches an elevated position, she latches onto the wall using her mantis blade, giving her a neat height advantage. However this is no longer possible because CD Projekt Red decided to take out this feature.

Level designer Max Pears told in an interview that wall running had to be removed due to design reasons. “Ah, the wall running. That is something that we removed due to design reasons, but there’s still going to be a lot of flexibility in how you move, that’s for sure,” said Pears. The wall running feature will probably return in the future in a from of an update but we can never be sure. It was one of the coolest Cyberpunk 2077 mechanism that. sadly, is now removed.

In other news, the company opted for three different starting areas for its different backstories as opposed to a simple questionnaire. Be sure to read our summary of all Cyberpunk 2077 news.
