Cyberpunk 2077 has finally made its debut after several delays and, in this article, we have gathered the most important tips that we managed to find on the internet. Special thanks to Jacob Dekker and Phil Hornshaw for sharing their awesome extended guide. Without further ado, let’s continue with the tips:
Cover, Cover, Cover
Cover is one of the most important features in the game. Your character can take cover behind walls, corners or low objectives in a Division-type mechanic. It is essential that you use this simple trick to survive large group of enemies or a powerful boss-like foes. V can peek and shoot pretty easily while behind cover, giving you a very safe feeling when hiding. While this does not really belong in a Cyberpunk 2077 tips list, it is very important for a smooth gameplay.
Keep in mind that you can also use cover while hacking enemies. Simply hold Scan and V will check the surroundings, giving you a chance to react faster in case of an incoming enemy. Scanning will also create a slow motion interval that will help you have a better look at the battlefield.
Store your Attribute Points
If you have ever played any old-school ARPGs like Diablo you are probably familiar with the Attribute “banking” trick. Cyberpunk 2077, like every other RPG, features a system which lets you spend Attribute Points to advance your character’s profile. While you can spend these points immediately, we highly recommend you to store some of them in case of an emergency.
There will be several times within your playthrough where you will find yourself unable to do conversation tests, hackings or even a simple interaction. With some Attribute Points banked, you will be able to overcome these obstacles almost immediately. The same rule does not apply for Perks. Perk Points are mainly talents used to improve your damage, hacking, crafting and stealth. There is no reason to hold back on spending those points, as they will help your character dramatically over the course of the campaign.
Upgrade Iconic Weapons
In Cyberpunk 2077 you can dismantle or sell guns that are weak and that you no longer need. However, this is not the case with Iconic weapons. If a piece of equipment is branded as “Iconic”, it means that it is a special and unique item that it can only be obtained in a specific place or quest. Every Iconic item will have Perks, meaning that they will be effective no matter their base damage. We recommend keeping those weapons and upgrading them during the late game if you truly aim for a BiS build. You can upgrade your weapons in the Upgrade Tab of the Crafting Menu.
Dont Fast-Travel All the Time
Cyberpunk 2077 supports a perfect fast-travel system that can teleport you anywhere you want in the city. In order to fast-travel, simply enter a holographic station and choose another station that you’ve previously discovered. In case you’ve missed them, holographic stations are marked with a blue icon on your minimap. However, should you choose to fast-travel all the time you will lose some great opportunities.
While driving in Night City, characters will call you on the phone to give you tasks. These calls will unlock several side missions that V can complete for money, weapons, experience and cosmetic rewards. In addition, some special events also trigger while entering a new zone via a vehicle. Always prioritize driving around the city over fast travelling if you want to get the most out of Night City.
Manage your Storage Space
Well there are mainly two ways to store gear except your inventory. First one is your apartment. In your house you will find a Stash area where weapons, equipment and items can be stored. The second place with a big storage space, is the trunk of your car. Almost any vehicles you own have a big stash area in the back. Combined with the ability to summon your car near every road, your vehicles make the perfect storage area to access even while away from your apartment.
Early in the game, Story Mode will take V’s car out of commission for some time, so be prepared to have a backup plan. A good way to increase your garage is by buying cares from Fixers. In addition, the Heroes side mission will also reward you with a new car, so be sure to seize that opportunity.
