According to a latest article in WoWhead, the DPS rankings for World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Season 1 have been updated.

Currently, Affliction Warlock sits at the top with WW Monk and Unholy DK right behind him. The top 5 also includes Boomkins and MM Hunters. Is the DPS system complete and are really all World of Warcraft classes balanced? Fortunately, Blizzard has done its best to keep all classes viable for raiding and M+ keystones hunting. However, in my opinion, there are some small mistakes that should be improved in the future.

First of all, Destruction and Demonology spec for Warlocks are almost useless nowadays, when compared to Affliction. If you are a Warlock and aim in some serious PVE-ing, Affliction is by far the best tree right now. In addition, Arcane Mages have also dropped almost 15 ranks, being useful only in specific encounters like Altimor. Same goes for Feral Druids, who have extremely high single target damage, but can not be efficient in fights where cleave is involved. Concluding, Warriors while being one of the best tanks in the previous expansion, have not enough DPS in Shadowlands, being ranked 13th (Arms) and 21st (Fury).

Keep in mind that, Fire Mage, Outlaw Rogue, MM Hunter and Affliction Warlock are the best M+ / Raid specs in pure DPS classes right now. I believe class-balancing has been improved over previous expansions I really hope that in the future all class-specs will be viable in PVE-ing.
